As we mentioned a ways back, “Raindrops” is a triumphant (and awesomely campy) return for Basement Jaxx. On the psychedelic anthem’s forthcoming home Scars we’re told to expect guest vocals from Grace Jones, Yoko Ono, Yo! Majesty, Lightspeed Champion, Cyndi Lauper, Santigold, and etc., but the track features Felix Buxton ably holding down the mic. The kaleidoscopic video doesn’t include any visual Buxton, but does make room for an array of body paint, masks, arty crotch shots, and over-the-top choreography. It’s pushing a Flaming Creatures/Pink Narcissus vibe, and might be NSFW, but in a modern dance kind of way.

Last time it looked like Scars was due in spring or early summer, but it appears you’ll have to wait until September.
