When we previewed the Battles multi-instrumentalist’s cartoony “Uffe’s Woodshop” last month, we said If felt very much like the part of something bigger and looked forward to hearing Central Market develop. Tyondai Braxton’s vision comes more into focus via this ten-minute album centerpiece, a schizophrenic orchestral piece with plenty of kazoo and plenty of any other instrument you can name. The composer says the album was influenced by Stravinsky, Eno, and Swans. And maybe Donald Duck?

Central Market is out 9/15 via Warp.

  1. Disney parade. Now it’s your decision to consider if that is a bad or good thing.

Oh man that was awesome. Can’t wait for this to come out. It’s like the Akira soundtrack and Fantasia took acid and had a freak baby.
