Download Jack White’s Full Bonnaroo ’14 Set

Jack White played Bonnaroo last weekend, and although his set didn't crack our list of the top 10 performances, all historical evidence suggests it rocked sufficiently hard while providing healthy does of unbridled swagger, old-timey sensibility, and classic material from White's storied catalog. The 10 Best Sets At Bonnaroo 2014

It has to be a toss-up between Coachella and Bonnaroo as to which is our most iconic currently active American festival. Growing up in Pennsylvania, I found the earlier years of Bonnaroo somewhat mythic -- I had friends who would make summer trips down to the festival, and they talked about it like it wa… More »

Kanye Blasts The Press, Slights Jay Z In Triumphant Bonnaroo Return

Six years after Kanye West's infamous Bonnaroo debut -- a performance that didn't begin until 4:30AM BECAUSE OF PEARL JAM, SQUID BRAINS!! -- the newlywed rapper returned to Manchester last night for what, by most accounts, was a strong headline set, though uneventful by Yeezus Tour standards. One notable outburst, which you can watch below,… More »

Skrillex, Janelle Monaé, Warpaint, Chance The Rapper, Thundercat To Join Forces For Bonnaroo Superjam

Bonnaroo has announced the lineups for a trio of Superjams at this year's festival. The annual improv sessions have previously featured D'Angelo's return to the public eye and the one-time-only collision of John Oates, R. Kelly, and Billy Idol, and at least one of this year's two lineups seems primed to offer something memorable. That'd… More »

Bonnaroo Lineup 2014

Like last year, Bonnaroo is announcing the bulk of its fest lineup via a 30-minute B.L.A.M. (Bonnaroo Line-Up Announcement Megathon) webcast. The 2014 reveal is hosted by comedians Hannibal Buress and Taran Killam and features a super jam with the Flaming Lips, Ben Folds, and special guests (I'm guessing Foxygen based on this Instagram). Bonnaroo… More »

The 9 Best Things At Bonnaroo 2013

This year's Bonnaroo curators covered important bases in terms of top-level talent: from iconic boomer-fare like Paul McCartney and Tom Petty, to iconic R&B fare like R. Kelly, to iconic hipster/hippie fare (a Bonnaroo speciality) in Animal Collective. And the undercard was ripe, too, with strong names from most every genre over four days o… More »

Along with Paul McCartney and Tom Petty, the hugely popular but controversial vest-folk revivalists Mumford & Sons were scheduled to headline this weekend's Bonnaroo Festival. But now, that won't happen, and Bonnaroo organizers will have to find someone else to fill tomorrow night's headliner spot. Mumford & Sons have a good reason for the cancellation:… More »

Bonnaroo 2013 Lineup

Unlike Coachella, who had us waiting in suspense for weeks -- analyzing the economics of the festival industry and trying to divine insight from fake posters -- before dropping their 2013 lineup at night, totally unannounced, Bonnaroo is doing this the old-fashioned way: by having Weird Al host a live stream on YouTube. The Tennessee… More »
