Next week is the series finale of NBC’s long running remake of Ricky Gervais’s UK classic The Office, and last night the showrunners finally addressed a serious weakness of the show during its full nine-year run: Not enough Santigold. Finally! Just kidding how beautifully random. Although, Santi’s appearance does come with some internal logic: Ed Helms’s character (Andy) is auditioning for an American Idol-styled singing contest (because of course he is), and hence Santi’s been cast as a Nicki Minaj-type judge (alongside past Idol champion Clay Aiken and past Super Bowl champion/present Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers).
