Hear How To Dress Well Sing Drake, Kanye, Miley On “Hungover” Mix

How To Dress Well

Tom Krell, better known as bedroom-R&B traveler How To Dress Well, can make good music in his sleep, and that’s almost not an exaggeration. Krell recently posted a new 45-minute mix online, and it’s somewhere between a DJ set and an actual honest-to-god mixtape. On the tape, Krell mixes together some of his favorite recent tracks (Chief Keef, Kevin Gates, M.I.A., a Ryan Hemsworth remix of Future’s “Honest”). And Krell also sings over many of those tracks, cooing bits of tracks like Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” and Kanye West’s “Hold My Liquor.” When posting it, he explained that he made the mix while laying in his bed, hungover, and singing into his Macbook mic, and he also didn’t remember all the songs he sang because he eventually fell asleep. The mix is way prettier and more compulsively listenable than that origin story suggests, and you can hear it below.

Starting to feel like “sleep-rap” could be its own subgenre.
