Versace! Versace Versace! M.I.A. just got her own clothing line at Versace! (Sorry.) M.I.A. just designed some clothes for Versace’s Versus line, which aims to be more affordable than the baroquely expensive stuff they usually sell, and as Pitchfork points out, M.I.A. tells Women’s Wear Daily that she based her clothes on the idea of counterfeit Versace clothes, even though Versace is actually the company making the clothes: “When I was contacted by Versace, it seemed a great idea to invert the circle. Versace’s designs have always been copied, now it’s Versace that copies the copies, so those that copy must copy the copies. So this will continue.” The line is set to arrive in stores 10/16, and you can see images of the clothes, in typically brain-breaking animated-gif form, here.
