Janelle Monaé had a huge 2013. Her album The Electric Lady garnered honors all over the place — for instance, we named it Album Of The Week and put it on our list of the year’s best LPs. But if you’re looking for a stamp of true celebrity, a Sesame Street guest appearance is probably a better marker than critical acclaim. Monaé, who already dresses kind of like a character from a kids’ TV show, will perform a song about perseverance called “The Power Of Yet” in an episode during Sesame Street’s 45th season, which debuts in September.
