YG’s DJ Mustard-produced slap “My Nigga” is one of the most satisfying California rap anthems to come along in recent months, and it’s also a near-perfect example of Mustard’s spacey, squelching production style. Other than YG, the original track had no West Coast rappers; it had Jeezy on a verse and Rich Homie Quan on the hook. The brand-new all-star remix is similar; it’s got Southern rappers (Lil Wayne, Rich Homie on the hook again) and East Coast rappers (Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj). But everyone sounds perfectly natural on it, like they’ve always been on it, and Nicki, in particular, just rips a hole through it. Listen to the track below.
