The soundtrack for the new movie Endless Love (initially framed as this ominous thriller in the trailers and now being marketed as a melodramatic love story in TV ads) features that new Tegan And Sara song we heard yesterday, but it also features another prominent indie rocker, Matt Berninger. The National’s baritone mouthpiece shows up on “All Our Endless Love,” a swooning piano ballad from the Bird And The Bee, the duo of Inara George and superproducer Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, the Shins, P!nk). It suggests that if he wanted to, Berninger could have a long, fruitful career lending gravitas to maudlin cinematic love stories; “All Our Endless Love” kicks into a different stratosphere when his vocal shows up in the second verse.
