TCTS, aka Manchester DJ/producer Sam O’Neill, released a superb EP called These Heights late last year, and he’s already got another one in the queue. Whereas the last EP came out on Greco-Roman, O’Neill’s new Games will be released through MTA, the label run by British production duo Chase & Status. Lead single “You” is an effervescent house cut built around melancholy piano, rubbery synths, and an assured yet emotionally wrecked vocal from London singer Sam Sure, whose own debut album is coming soon. This TCTS guy sure understands how to lace propulsive rhythms with gut-wrenching pop. Listen below.
