We’re in the midst of a ridiculously fertile year for doom metal; just in the past few weeks, we’ve received monster albums from Pallbearer and Yob. And now British doom legends Electric Wizard are back with Time To Die, their first album since 2010’s Black Masses. The album is a slow, crunching, heaving, spitting, ridiculously heavy slab of music, exactly the sort of thing you’d hope that this band would come back with. Michael made the 11-minute “I Am Nothing” the #1 song on a recent Black Market. He loves this album to pieces, and his taste in metal is one you can trust. Now, you can stream the whole album at NPR.
Time To Die is out 9/30 on Spinefarm.
