It’s not just Ryan Adams who’s having a big year. Bloodshot Records, the label that released his classic album Heartbreaker, recently turned 20 — in fact they’re really more like 21 now, but that’s an even more appropriate age to be celebrating. And celebrating they are, with While No One Was Looking: Toasting 20 Years Of Bloodshot Records, a new compilation that features bands covering songs by some of the iconic artists involved with the label. Today you can hear Blitzen Trapper take on the choice Heartbreaker cut “To Be Young (Is To Be Sad, Is To Be High).” Listen to it below, and look for the record, which will include contributions from Superchunk, Ted Leo, Andrew Bird, and more, in November.
