Kid Moxie — AKA Greek-born, LA-based musician Elena Charbila — has a haunting new video by Markus Hofko, the director that brought us the bizarre yet striking clip for Flying Lotus’ Phantasm.” “Museum Motel,” a collaboration with The Gaslamp Killer off Moxie’s forthcoming album 1888, is an eerie, celestial song with a somber violin melody that mellows out the track’s initial strong trumpets and drumming. The video takes place in a cave where only bits of mobile rocks are illuminated by a spotlight. One boulder cracks like an egg to reveal a woman in the water looking like a frightened creature of the black lagoon, projections illuminating her terrified expression. The video is an odd and exquisite complement to the delicately orchestrated track. Watch it below.
1888 will be out 12/2 via self-release with Undo/EMI handling the vinyl.
