AlunaGeorge have been largely quiet throughout 2014 after spending most of 2013 heavily promoting their great debut album Body Music. That silence is broken in a big way with “Supernatural,” the new song the duo premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC radio show today. There’s no news about a new album yet, but for now we’ve got this song, which infuses AlunaGeorge’s trademark futuristic R&B club music with breathy delivery and gnarly vocoder samples like something you’d hear on a Crystal Castles song. It’s not nearly as dark as all that, but there’s a hard edge to the group’s brightly glimmering pop this time around. On first listen, it sounds great to me.
