Menace Beach – “Come On Give Up” (Stereogum Premiere)

Menace Beach will release debut album Ratworld in January. The Leeds guitar-pop act, led by the duo of Ryan Needham and Liza Violet, built steam this summer with a double A-side single featuring “Tennis Court” (no relation to Lorde) and “Lowtalkin.” Both of those will appear on the LP, as will “Come On Give Up,” the album’s official lead single and Menace Beach’s best song yet. It’s a punchy, catchy track that reminds me of the Shins back when they still had the spark of youth, but with Superchunk’s playful sass and unrestrained crunch. Stream or download it below.

Ratworld is out 1/19/15 on Memphis Industries.
