I’ve already written a ton of words about how astounding Mitski’s new album is so I’m going to let the music speak for itself this time, which it does so assertively and without holding back. In short, Bury Me At Makeout Creek is a monumental achievement, probably my favorite record of the year, and you can stream the whole thing below. Besides the tracks that have already been released, some additional highlights include album opener “Texas Reznikoff,” a dusty and tired number that snaps violently into focus on the back half, and “Drunk Walk Home,” which is as ferocious and vulnerable as anything you’ll hear this year. Listen.
Bury Me At Makeout Creek is out 11/11 on Double Double Whammy.
