Shia LaBeouf video aside, “Elastic Heart” is one of the best songs off Sia’s excellent 1000 Forms Of Fear, and now Clams Casino has re-imagined it on a languid remix. The original is taut with sirens and bursts of percussion, but Clams tones down the verve in favor of fluttery, swampy synths. Despite her claims of resilience, Sia still sounds like she might snap, and that anxiety is part of what makes this song such a crucial part of your heartbreak recovery plan. Sometimes all you can do is keep going through the motions despite the disturbance lurking underneath, and Clams’ version of “Elastic Heart” subtly spotlights that tension. Listen below.
