In 2013, the L.A. future-soul singer Kelela broke into our collective consciousness with Cut 4 Me, a dizzily great mixtape full of dazzling production, from the various producers associated with the Fade To Mind and Night Slugs labels, and a voice that was capable of navigating those otherworldly tracks like it was nothing. In April, Kelela will release a deluxe edition of Cut 4 Me, and it’ll be the first time the tape is available in any physical format. It’ll include an extra disc of remixes from Fade To Mind-associated types like Nguzunguzu, Girl Unit, and Jam City. And below, you can hear Kingdom turn the Cut 4 Me track “Enemy” into a hammering, off-kilter sci-fi dance anthem.
The deluxe reissue of Cut 4 Me is out 4/7 on Fade To Mind.
