MG (Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore) – “Europa Hymn”

Martin Gore has been the second banana in Depeche Mode since pretty much the moment the group began, though he’s also sung lead on some of their best songs, like “Somebody” and “Home.” Next month, he’ll release a solo instrumental album that he recorded under the name MG. Gore recorded the album in his home studio in Santa Clara, California, and here’s what he says about it: “I wanted to keep the music very electronic, very filmic, and give it an almost sci-fi like quality. Music is a necessity for me. I go into the studio at least five days a week, every week, so once I had the idea and the template, the process was quick and fun.” Below, check out the album’s tracklist and listen to first single “Europa Hymn,” a brooding twinkle of a track.
