Gloomy Philadelphia quartet Creepoid announced that they’ve signed to Collect Records, and will release their third full-length LP this summer. Cemetery Highrise Slum was produced and mixed by Peter Mavrogeorgis, who is best known for his work on the National’s High Violet and Sharon Van Etten’s Tramp. “American Smile” is Cemetery Highrise Slum’s first single and leading track. Creepoid’s Sean Miller commented on the way in which this song is representative of the album as a whole:

It references many of the over-arching themes of the album: our own tenuous mortality, our personal struggles and our individual shortcomings as human beings. Its chorus contains the words ‘cemetery highrise slum’; we chose that phrase for the title of our album because we felt it best encapsulates how we see our own abject reality.
