Tunji Ige, GrandeMarshall, & Wara From The NBHD – “Moving”

Tunji Ige’s debut album The Love Project is so good that I listen to it at least once every day, so I was excited to see he had a new track out. Furthermore, “Moving” features Wara From The NBHD, the Brooklyn-raised Atlanta-based rapper who just dropped a vicious mixtape of his own confronting gun violence in America. I personally hadn’t encountered GrandeMarshall before, but if this is the company he’s keeping, I’m all in. Anyway, this unholy trifecta came together during respective press trips to New York and hit Red Bull Studios together to record “Moving.” Ige handles production along with Ben Pramuk, delivering what’s becoming a signature warped-record, twinkling sing-song sample that holds together clattering drums and heated flows. This feels like one of those songs where the trio hyped each other up through sheer proximity, playing off each other’s energy and bringing the song to a boiling point none of them would’ve reached alone. Listen below.
