Nick Cave spent a lot of time on airplanes when he and his Bad Seeds toured North America last year. In the process, he began a project that will soon become a full-fledged book. Cave’s new literary work is called The Sick Bag Song, and it’s a book he wrote entirely on airplane barf bags. This seems like a high-risk project! If you get sick, you lose a whole chapter!
According to a press release, the book “blends poetry, lyrics, memories, musings, flights of fancy and journal entries.” The book will be available as an “unlimited” hardcover, which will include audiobook and E-book. It’ll also be available in a “limited” edition, which will include an actual barf bag that Cave will customize. Cave will read from the book at a few events: 4/8 in L.A., 4/10 in New York, and 4/16 in London. Maybe when he’s in transit between those stops, he’ll write another book! Here’s a trailer for the book, with Cave reading an excerpt from the audiobook.
The Sick Bag Song unlimited version is out 4/8, and the limited one is out 6/4.
