The leading light of South Africa’s Shangaan electro scene has graced us with “Xihukwani,” the lead single from his upcoming Nozinja Lodge. The album is allegedly all about “endlessly chasing the visceral thrill of the dance,” but the song does not play hard to get. It’s just three minutes of giddy, attention-deficit groove that imagines what traditional African music will sound like when the cyborgs finally take over. Move!
