Like all great Protomartyr songs, “Blues Festival” maintains a healthy balance of irreconcilable noise and quiet moments of reprieve. It’s a loud, melodic song that progresses in movements, its lyrics riddled with references to great rock acts of yesteryear. This new single will be included on a split titled A Half Of Seven with R. Ring, a project fronted by Kelley Deal of the Amps and the Breeders. She also sings on this Protomartyr song. Listen to “Blues Festival” below.
A Half Of Seven is out digitally 04/14 and physical 7″s are due out 6/16 via Hardly Art.
