For Record Store Day this year, Field Music will put out their fifth full-length album, an entirely instrumental recording that’s meant to act as the score to the 1929 silent documentary Drifters. It’s a discursion for the British band, who have mainly stuck to a solid string of wiry, melodic post-punk for their past releases. But the band performed the score at the 2013 Berick Film & Media Arts Festival, spent the next year fine-tuning, and decided to make the work an official release.
