The producer Lee Bannon has followed a less-traveled career path. He started out making beats for wordy rappers like Joey Bada$$ and Mick Jenkins and went onto make moody late-’90s-style drum-and-bass, linking up with the drummer from Anthrax somewhere along the way. Bannon has a new album called Pattern Of Excel on the way, and first single “Artificial Stasis” is yet another departure. It’s an ominous-but-pretty synth-drone that might appeal to people who like Oneohtrix Point Never. Give it a listen below.
Pattern Of Excel is out 7/10 on Ninja Tune.
