Barbadian rapper Haleek Maul is at his best when he works with off-kilter foils. From Supreme Cuts to Forest Swords, Maul constantly enlists fellow unconventional artists to work with. For “Somebody (Feuer),” he’s working with the sharp-voiced Danish singer Kill J, who adds an air of the ethereal to his loopy, growling flow. Kill J’s voice acts like the dandelion spores blown off the top of this thick, green track; their pairing is an ideal one as her amorphous presence balances his thick, antsy verses. Listen below. The song, which was produced by Cubby and Shy Guy, will be on his forthcoming mixtape Prince Midas along with “Kingdom Come” and “Medicine.”
