Over the weekend, a new Mutual Benefit track called “Not For Nothing” surfaced as a part of Weathervane Music’s Shaking Through series. One part of the mission of the series is to provide an inside look at the process that goes into creating a song, but another part is to encourage people to tinker with and remix each track that’s shared through the series themselves. That’s what you’ll be able to do if you sign up for a membership with the company. The documentaries themselves are a detailed and insightful look behind the recording and the production process for the track. “Not For Nothing” was recorded at Miner Street Recordings in Philadelphia, and it was the first time the band had put together a song outside of a home studio setting.
