Multi-Love is the first Unknown Mortal Orchestra album that Portland-by-way-of-New-Zealand frontman Ruban Nielson didn’t record entirely alone, and it shows. He feels like isolated here, and the record’s pull towards soul and R&B feels natural after the more insular psychedelia of the first two records. So far, we’re only heard the title track and “Can’t Keep Checking My Phone, but now you can stream the entire new album over on NPR.
