As revealed on a recent No Effects podcast, Vampire Weekend aren’t that close to releasing a new album, but bassist Chris Baio’s flourishing side gig as an electronic producer will yield an LP soon enough. About a month ago Baio announced a record deal with indie titan Glassnote, and today he’s shared that project’s lead single along with release details. It’s out this September, and the name is The Names. Lead single and opening track “Brainwash yyrr Face” is brisk, moody electronic pop that feels like blustery wind around a pounding heartbeat.
