Tenement switch modes so deftly and seamlessly that it’s sometimes hard to keep track — that’s a skill that comes with their hard-earned decade of experience. On “Dull Joy,” the last track we heard off the Wisconsin threesome’s long-in-the-making album Predatory Highlights, they were mining some serious late ’90s rock to great effect. On “Hive Of Hives,” they’re at the power-poppiest. The record comes out in only a few days, and what we’ve heard so far has been great. It’s a testament to their talent that they make it sound so easy. Listen below.
