In the video for “What You Don’t Do,” she takes the sensibilities of doo-wop and updates them with jittery piano, bursts of brass, and that flawless voice like a cherry on top. The song relies on a negative turn of phrase to convey an ecstatic message; it’s the games she isn’t forced to endure, it’s the simple silences that convince her of this relationship’s veracity. Like the video for “Unstoppable,” this clip centers around La Havas relishing in her affection, flashing through the frame in beautiful, bright outfits and a signature grin.
