Tamaryn – “Softcore”

Tamaryn has been grinding out psychic glitter-pop for a few years now, but her upcoming third record, Cranekiss, feels like a high water mark for the New Zealand auteur. We’ve heard maximalist desire anthem “Hands All Over Me” — which we named one of the week’s best songs — and the gauzy, careening title track. Today, she’s shared “Softcore,” a dark, heavy-lidded track that ticks by like freeway miles, recalling the guarded ferocity of Uma Thurman in a Tarantino flick. Listen below.

Cranekiss is out 8/28 on Mexican Summer.
