Maybe the powers of the Migos flex stronger in the summer? Their new track feels like a return to form in some ways. “Pipe It Up” will be on the joyous, frenetic Atlanta trio’s major label debut YRN: Tha Album. It’s built off an impossibly fast Migos-flow trademarked hook, burbling synthesizers, and a clean, crisp little piano tinkle. Here’s hoping this one connects with radio better than “One Time” did. “Feeling like Aladdin / Quavo the genie / I’ll grant your ho three wishes,” Quavo raps during his break from full-time drill of the hook, and I’m very down for them to do a magic carpet concept for the video. Perhaps we will see this album’s release in a few weeks after all. Listen below.
