Last year, Charli XCX was working on a raw, aggressive, new wave-y punk album in Sweden. That ended up getting shelved in favor of the candied brat-pop explosion that was Sucker, but during a show at Finland’s Ilosaarirock festival this weekend, Charli played a song from that project, “Mow That Lawn.” It’s unclear if this means that the material will eventually see a release in some form or if Charli just feels comfortable playing this stuff in Scandinavian countries, nostalgic for her time in Sweden, but either way you can watch fan video of “Mow That Lawn” below, via Spin.
