The sad saga of Bobby Shmurda continues. With his label unwilling to pay his $2 million bail, the rapper born Ackquille Pollard has been stuck in jail since late last year on drugs and weapons charges, to which he pled not guilty. Last month he was re-arrested for possessing a prison shank, a weapon he allegedly received from his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau. The New York Daily News reports that yesterday Rousseau pled not guilty to two counts of promoting prison contraband and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, charges that could carry a seven-year prison sentence. Prosecutors allege that Rousseau slipped Shmurda a “sharpened metal object” inside a white latex balloon wrapped in black electrical tape. Her case has been pushed back to 10/13 while both sides work out a plea deal. Meanwhile, Shmurda faces his own charges of promoting prison contraband Thursday at Bronx Supreme Court.
This whole ordeal is making the Shmoney Dance seem so sad in retrospect.
