Southern metal trio Kylesa are releasing their seventh album Exhausting Fire in October, and today they’ve shared the gloomy first single “Night Drive” via Spin. Two years ago they garnered our Album Of The Week distinction for Ultravoiolet, a record that fused post-hardcore with grand, sweeping doom metal. “Night Drive” steers the band a bit more toward the goth lane, but the dueling vocals of Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants keep an air of unsettled tension in the track. The huge wall of guitar noise that swells right before the four-minute mark doesn’t hurt either. Listen below.
Exhausting Fire is out 10/2 via Season of Mist. Pre-order it here.
