Ten People Injured Amid “Chaos” At Summer Ends Fest

KTVK reports that around 10-12 people were injured at Tempe, AZ’s Summer Ends Festival last night when the crowd rushed the stage during roots reggae band Rebelution’s set. At least nine patients were hospitalized amid the ensuing “chaos,” while several others were treated at the scene. “It was crazy,” one fan fan told KTVK afterwards. “People were getting pushed, stepped on, trampled over. Nobody was really caring about anybody.” The show was temporarily halted while injuries were treated, but resumed in time for headliner J. Cole to perform.

The fest is ending today, with Kanye West set to headline, and Tempe Police Sgt. Damon DeSpain has shared the following message:

The Tempe Police Department is working with Tempe Fire Medical Rescue and the event promoter (Lucky Man Productions) to avoid any similar type of incident today. We are asking that concert goers come prepared by staying well hydrated, dressing appropriately for the hot weather, and wearing sunblock. As always, we encourage guests to have fun while acting responsibly and in a safe manner.

Today’s lineup also includes Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Kaytranada, Travi$ Scott, and Pusha T.
