In an effort to replicate the success that NBC had with their live musical broadcasts of Peter Pan and The Sound Of Music, FOX announced earlier this year that they’d be putting on a performance of Grease, and it’s just been revealed that Carly Rae Jepsen will be joining the cast in the role of Frenchy. It’s not her first musical endeavor — she took a break in between albums to play Cinderella on Broadway in 2014 — but it’ll be under more scrutiny than usual, as she’s fresh off the release of her very well-received album E•MO•TION. (Have you heard of it?) She’ll join a cast that already includes Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer, and the two stars: Julianne Hough (Sandy) and Aaron Tveit (Danny).
Grease: Live will air on FOX on 1/31/16.
