It’s been almost four years since Visions and, in that time, Grimes has become the unlikeliest of celebrities. Art Angels is her fourth album, but in a lot of ways it feels like it’s facing the expectations of a sophomore one, given that Visions served as so many’s introduction to Claire Boucher’s world of off-kilter pop. Her singles for the album — “Flesh Without Blood,” “Scream” — have been some of her most divisive but satisfying work yet, and the rest of Art Angels is sure to raise some eyebrows as well. We’ll have our Premature Evaluation later today, but for now dig into the record below.
Grimes’ Art Angels is out now via 4AD.
