Bruising – “Honey”

Leeds four-piece Bruising have only been together for about a year, but their gauzy new single “Honey” takes leaps forwards in the realms of reverb-drenched, fuzzy punk. Naomi Baguley’s delicate vocals get swept up in a wave that is part uncompromising noise, part poppy guitar scuzz, balancing the tender and the quietly chaotic. “Honey” is a revived version of one of the earliest songs that founding members Baguley and Ben Lewis ever wrote together back when they started sharing voice memo clips after Baguley saw Lewis sporting a Perfect Pussy shirt at a Leeds club. Listen below.

The Emo Friends/ Honey single is out 11/20 on Beech Coma. Pre-order it here.
