Last week Zayn Malik debuted a beautiful ballad called “It’s You” on The Tonight Show with assistance from the Roots. This week the song gets official release along with a black and white video by director Ryan Hope. This latest Mind Of Mine single strikes me as a midpoint between new archnemeses Sam Smith and Thom Yorke; it reminds me of a specific Radiohead song, I just can’t figure out which one. In other ZAYN news, lead single “Pillowtalk” now has a remix featuring a verse by Lil Wayne, whose Tha Carter III seems like a clear inspiration for the Mind Of Mine cover art despite Malik’s protests to the contrary.
