Since the release of their most recent album in 2006, French electronic duo Cassius have focused primarily on production work. One-half of the group, Philippe Zdar, has worked with both the Beastie Boys and Cat Power, and now they’re featured on Cassius’ first new track in a long while. Mike D and Chan Marshall both contribute vocals to “Action,” which presumably will appear on an upcoming new album, though no details have been released just yet. “The song came with this world liberation theme and then I came with a modern-day relationship theme, and somehow the two went together. It’s kind of like toast and Vegemite go together only in Australia,” Mike D recalled to Pitchfork about the track. You can listen to it below.
