Sigur Rós have been promising new songs, a new live show, and “maybe some other *new* things” since late last year, and this fall they’ll make good on those promises with a North American tour. They’ve announced the dates today along with details on the performances.

For the first time, the Icelandic post-rock OGs will be performing without an opening act. Instead, they’ll do two sets each night with an intermission. The first set begins at 8:30PM sharp each night. For these theater shows, they’ll also be touring without their usual string and brass section, instead performing as the core three-piece lineup as they road-test new material ahead of recording it for the first time since the period leading up to 2002’s ( ). They also promise new interpretations of older material.
