When David Bowie passed away early this year, scores of artists paid tribute to him by covering some of his classic songs. The Flaming Lips played nine of Bowie’s songs in Aspen back in February, and earlier this month they performed at a Carnegie Hall tribute to the late, great musician. The band released a video for their rendition of “Space Oddity,” which they performed on Colbert this past Tuesday. In the clip, the Flaming Lips play the song to a church audience of white balloons.
