Well, the powers that be are still trying to make French Montana happen. He’s not the best. He’s not the worst. But every now and then he gets help from a big label budget that lifts him to memorable moments he wouldn’t be capable of on his own. Thankfully, his latest mixtape, Wave Gods, is full of those instances, and “Figure It Out” is one of them. It’s a bit of vintage, sped-up, high-pitched Kanye sampling with solid verses from ‘Ye, Montana, and Queensbridge’s finest Nas. The visuals are fittingly grand shots of throwback rap opulence, complete with Rolls Royce Phantom, private planes, and Ciroc and Hennessey plugs galore. Check it out.
