British dance-rocker and producer Joe Mount is better know as Metronomy. His last album was 2014’s excellent Love Letters. Today he took his talents to Annie Mac’s BBC1 Radio show to unveil his new single “Old Skool” and announced his upcoming album Summer 08 due later this summer. It’s a super funky disco-leaning joint that fits it’s title to a tee. Groovy bass, bouncy drums, and catchy melodies combine for a highly danceable jaunt. Mount recruits Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys to add some nimble scratching, and he’s truly got an updated old school jam on his hands. Listen below.
