Synth shimmer quartet Yumi Zouma are gearing up to drop their latest collection of delicate, dreamy pop songs, Yoncalla, in a little more than two weeks. They’ve already shared the beautiful, wispy lead single “Keep It Close To Me” and the glimmering followup “Barricade (Matter Of Fact).”
Today, the album continues to take shape via their latest offering, “Short Truth.” It’s more soaring, fluttering synth-soused enchantment. But this time around it’s counterbalanced with grumbling bass and deeper synths that anchor Christie Simpson’s candid realizations of romantic truths. Some things you just can’t change in a person, and either you’ve got to live with it or move on. It’s an ugly truth of relationships, but it’s beautifully expressed in this jam. Listen.
