Clams Casino — aka the moniker of New Jersey producer Michael Volpe — put out a series of very popular instrumental mixtapes, the last of which was released in 2013. He’s largely stuck to producing for other artists since then, but he’ll make a grand return under his own name later this year when he puts out a new album, 32 Levels, on Columbia Records. “Blast” is the first cut we’re hearing from that record, and it’s the same sort of dark, menacing beat Clams has been messing around with for his entire career so far, but that still sounds pretty damn good.
