Dogbreth – “Cups And Wrappers” (Stereogum Premiere)

Stillman Busselle

When I listen to Dogbreth, I can’t picture them performing anywhere but a DIY basement venue reeking of sweat and stale beer. Split between Phoenix and Seattle, the four-piece power-pop band is releasing their new LP Second Home on Asian Man Records, and today we’re premiering the album’s first single, “Cups And Wrappers.” It takes cues from the likes of Thin Lizzy and the Dead Milkmen and creates an immediate image of the aforementioned basement crowd screaming along with the chorus, “Rock and roll won’t make it all OK/ But it used to seem that way.” Check out “Cups And Wrappers” below.
